I am currently seeing a holistic doctor who recommended this book to me I have been following the plan for two weeks now, and am seeing marvelous results I have lost six pounds I have had a chronic health problem clear up I have lost the food cravings which were driving me crazy I have energy And my hormone levels seem to be balancing out Mind you, this program is not necessarily easy to follow The fast food lifestyle that most Americans follow is deeply ingrained in many of us, and can be hard to give up Processed foods are everywhere, convenient, and simple to grab and eat when you re hungry This plan requires some planning, some thought, and a dedication to finding organic produce and meats I m a Type O But if you re willing and able to do so, the benefits are terrific I have one small quibble with the book D Adamo suggests the use of Ezekial or Essene breads for Type Os, but my doctor tells me they contain gluten, so I avoid them I would also recommend that people with sugar cravings avoid chocolate altogether, as it makes it harder to get past those if you still eat it.All in all though, this is a fantastic book, and the companion book, Cook Right For Your Type is a wonderful addition to this plan If you re willing to follow through, this concept can change your life for the better D Adamo s advice is sound throughout There s no doubt that following any of the diets, for most people, would still offer superior nutrition and balance than 95% of Americans get every day However, there s precious little clinical evidence in this book to justify his general ideas I have followed the appropriate diet for my type and found it to be helpful But I d like to see a controlled study with at least 100 people in each group over a few years hopefully, he s doing this now One group follows a sensible balance plan another group follows the specific diet for their type If his theories and speculation are correct, the test group will have spectacular improvements in their health and fitness over a majority of the control group But, still, it s sound advice despite the lack of empirical evidence the anecodotal evidence is strong, and naturopathy is about the individual s own response to different inputs. I heard a customer talking about this book..but didn t think much of it at the time Later, I heard my Aunt s sister and mother were on the Eat Right for Your Type diet I became interestedbut I didn t know what blood type I was I had looked at the book at my local grocery store, and came to the conclusion that I was either type 0 or ABbased on the description of the stresses and excersises for each type I was right, I am AB.I found the book interesting as it describes the history of blood typeshow O is the oldest, then B as people migrated into colder climates Then to A, which were vegetarian eaters Moving finaly to AB the newest type, a mix, has the highest cancer rates I did not like reading that chicken, beef and oj are not good for me How to live without those The book tells you what is highly benificial to you, gives you a middle and then the negitive.Am I following it No, but I feel so fat and crappy that I m going back on it A few years ago, I was a vegetarian I ate well, educated myself on nutrition, took in the extra proteins that I was missing from meats I did not do well I did this for two years I did NOT do this necessarily from a health stand point as much as from a spiritual focus similar to fasting My health declined no matter how hard I tried I looked like a skeleton My baby at the time seemed to thrive, she was the essence of perfect health after I took her off whole milk Well, this confused many When I stared eating meat agian, I slowly became healthier Now I was than just an occasional meat eater, I was consciouse of how good other foods were for you also A year ago, I found this book Right away it explained the mystery of those two years I am an O Blood type, my daughter is an A It all fell into place Even interesting, was the history uncovered.to think that AB blood types are only 1,000 years old I have many beliefs, and I can t help but wonder, that if our blood types evolved by what we ate, and the regions lifestyles we thrived in, could we be evolving again Kind of scarey, considering all the perservatives and genetically engineered foods that we ingest I also found the suggested foods hard to locate But, discovered most with careful searching.in my local Vitamin Cottages Good luck And like any change, you have to really want it, to make it work.
