This book was keep you on the edge of your seat good! There was love, and sadness, suspense, and the gut wrenching plot twist! a must read series! Lucy and her friends are in a constant state of looking over their shoulder, wondering when the next attack by Alex will come During this time they have to prepare as much as they can to take him down before he can take them down But it always seems he is 3 steps ahead Will they finally be able to stop him once and for all? Or is this “fight” bigger than they realize? One thing is for sure…people are going to get hurt and lives will be in jeopardy I am still reeling from that ending So much happens in such a short period of timeit will take some time to wrap my mind around it I am really not sure what to feel right now A large part of me hopes it is all one big mistake But another knows that not everything can continue going on like it was without someone we've become close with losing their life I feel for the reader when they get to that part It may break them like it did me.Yep, that ending made the story I did love the whole book, but that ending is what impressed me most It absolutely has me eager for what is to come and has me looking forward to reading the next book as soon as I can Cannot wait to get my grubby hands on it Long is a fantastic author and I enjoy the imagination she brings to life with her words 5 Incredible Stars! Full review andavailable at: *********************************************************************************My Thoughts:there must always by hope, Lucy Sullivan EliasFreaks Abominations God's mistakes For years, those who are different have been persecuted Sought out and exploited for their differences Laughed at, mocked by the public Not any If book have taught me anything, it's that we can only truly expect two things out of life A beginning, and an end Everything that happens from Point A to Point B is merely a page filler Whether you live a life of excellence, or a life hiding in the shadows, each person has a story to tell Not many can tell that story as well as Mrs Liz Long For fans of the Donovan Circus series, Hunted is everything you are looking for, and then some Heartache, turmoil, justice, mystery, and enough tension to slice through a tin can: hold on to your top hats people, this series is going places!Last summer when I met Liz, it didn't take me long to fall in love with Lucy Sullivan A spunky, brave, intelligent young woman with quite the secret: she's a firestarter, and she's not the only one The world of Donovan Circus is full of some of the most 'gifted' individuals imaginable, but how does the series hold up after its' third installment?Picking up shortly after the close of Burned, we see immediately how much our heroine, Lucy, has grown over the short time it has been since she returned to Sheffield Donovan's troupe In nearfull control of her powers, Lucy is out for blood: justice and revenge are coming, Donovan style It's remarkable to me just how much story Liz Long can fit into such few pages While readers may take note that Hunted is the shortest book in the series thus far, I can assure you that it is by no means any less fulfilling These pages are filled to the brim with as many emotions as a novel can hold. When it comes to plot, Liz Long does not disappoint Each and every page of this novel packs a punch, leaving you breathless You will not be able to put this one down (side note: I literally couldn't stop reading, my betaversion didn't have chapter divisions! Haha!) Liz digs deep and answers some hard questions that readers have been wondering about for three books now Finally, we're beginning to see what's really happening in the 'gifted' world The agenda is big folks, much bigger than we thought While the plot took a couple of twists that I was not expecting, I wasn't disappointed at all Some reviews have commented on the deaths of a couple of key characters in this one, but I believe that any true fan of this series can come to understand why these actions were necessary TRUST ME, I wasupset that I care to imagine at one point, but at the end of the day, all sacrifices were made for the greater good, and with Liz Long at the helm, each emotionally draining scene was handled with grace and elegance Like it's predecessors before it, Hunted deals with a number of hard hitting themes Family, loyalty, maturity, love, staying true to yourself, sacrifice, and so manythemes are explored Unlike the other two stories, this one is so much bigger than just Lucy For the first time, we really get a look at the big picture and see how the actions of a few are really effecting the 'gifted' community as a whole Lucy has to make some extremely hard decisions in this novel, but with an excellent head on her shoulders, she manages to handle it all and live to fight another day But will she be able to come to terms with her inner demons to tackle the task at hand?Hunted is the first novel in the series that really takes us away from the fields of the circus The Donovan gang is on the hunt for Alex and his minions, searching high and low for any leads Their journey takes them from inside the security of the Donovan grounds (or are they really secure?) and deep into Appalachia to help secure the future for 'Gifteds' everywhere The hunt for Alex is on! Liz's writing style continues to amaze me Nothing is too heavy and everything has exactly the right amount of emotion Like I mentioned before, this story isn't an easy one to read, but I believe that it may pack Long's best punches yet! The witty dialogue and well developed settings and plot lines in Hunted really help to showcase the amazingness that is Liz Long I have no doubt that one day we'll be seeing Liz's name in lights! The tone for Hunted is much darker than its' predecessors And with good reason Lucy and the gang aren't out for fun, their out for blood Unfortunately, Lucy and the gang have learned the hard way that fooling around isn't going to solve their problems It's only with precision and unwavering bravery and intelligence that the team is going to pull out of this alive!I think my absolute favorite part about Hunted was the incredible character development that we see Lucy was very heavily showcased in books one and two, so book three was a great opportunity for readers to learnabout our supporting cast Including some of my favorite characters, Gabriel, Keegan, Elias, and Nikolas I will make one complain for this novel when it comes to the characters, we don't see nearly enough Gabriel Gabriel, the empath and sometimes love interest to Lucy Sullivan (one of my favorite characters) I will say that Gabriel still does play an important role in the story, but I'm crossing my fingers for lots of Gabriel in the next book in the series Keegan and Lucy's relationship really grows a lot in Hunted, which really adds some heart to the story Nikolas really stepped up his game in this story and Long does an incredible job with his storyline As you guys may remember, Elias has been my favorite character since day one and I am very excited to say that he plays a HUGE role in Hunted, in fact, maybe the most important role Just saying We finally get some much needed back story on his role in history, as well as how his powers developed and some of his emotional personal history as well Elias fans will not be disappointed It should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone, that I absolutely loved everything about Hunted I may be bias, but this may have been my favorite installment yet Not only does Liz write an incredible story, she also blows her universe wide open with this novel and shows that there is so muchout there in the 'gifted' world Long's possibilities are endless when it comes to this series I can't speak for anyone else, but I can definitely say that this guy will be a fan of this series until the very end This being said, it is my great honor to grant Hunted by Liz Long a very welldeserved 5star review! Here's to the next great installment in the Donovan Circus series! Does anybody have any info on book FOUR?! Kudos to you Liz Long, Hunted was everything I was looking for and ! I could not beproud to be a fan of this series!********************************************************************************* I received Hunted in exchange for a fair and honest review I should deduct at least half a star for the heartbreak in Hunted but I can't *sigh* I finished Hunted in absolute awe The world that Liz Long has created in the Donovan Circus series is constantly evolving New people with new powers are woven into the story and just when you think that you know what to expect from a certain type of ‘Gifted’ a new twist is added to their power That doesn’t even take into consideration that sometimes from page to page you’re wondering exactly who can and can’t be trusted Hunted was basically a nonstop roller coaster ride of emotion.Lucy is testedthan once in Hunted in many different ways Her loyalty to her friends and ‘family’ is never in question, but the secret she’s keeping is putting a strain on her Having someone to not only share that secret with but to also help her with her role as leader is a relief A new balance of friendship is created which caused me see some characters in a whole different light. There were times during Hunted that I wasn’t sure who would survive and not everyone did I can’t really say a whole lotbecause it would give too much away I can tell you that Lucy losing someone wasn’t the most heartbreaking moment for me in Hunted I shedthan one tear in this book and Liz Long rose one step higher on my ‘Evil Author’ list by the time I was finished.Hunted doesn’t end in an actual cliff hanger but the fate of pretty much everyone is uncertain No one was left untouched by the events that took place in this book and there are some that will definitely never be the same The next book in this series can’t come soon enough. I beta read this book That's not a secret What is a secret is that it's currently 8:30 pm on Thursday, March 19th and I'm just finally writing this review. Why?Well when I read I always try to figure out who the jerk is going to be It might be the bad guy, a traitorous friend, or even a dog that craps on the couch at an inopportune time The scale doesn't matter, I just want to know who's bringing the drama While reading Hunted, I knew who the jerk was I was so positive that I noted it in the margins It's right there, highlighted for ever I don't really trust him.But I was wrong I was so wrong Like, tragically and catastrophically wrong And I'm not sure I can forgive myself for it.Or Long. You see, she has created these characters that aren't just words on a page any It's as if they were actually friends, mentors, and enemies There are times when it feels like it might be possible to travel and find the Donovan Circus setup somewhere So when something bad happens to the family, you feel it And when it happens to the person you were doubting. This is why I couldn't write the review I'm tearing up and suffering from extensive guilt over my mistake I may never forgive myself. For doubting a character. And that saysabout Hunted than any flip review I could write It's not all a downer though There are some sweet moments, some touching moments, some hilarious moments, and though I hate to admit it some hot moments Lucy and company have come a long way, they've gone through some shit, and I've had a hell of a time going with them I'm thrilled Long has allowed me to take this journey with them.Give the Donovan Circus a try, I promise you won't be disappointed.Unless you ship the same couple I shipped And even then you just want to shake Lucy a bit, but you get over that. After reading the previous novels in this series, I was excited for the next book, and I was not dissapointed It hooked me from the first chapter The story picks up roughly where the last left off Right away, the mood was set HUNTED is darker than the last two books in many ways Lucy is a character you stand behind and root for, but she's been through so much already, and things aren't about to get easier Watching Lucy(and all the characters)evolve, relationships change, and explore new depths of the gifted and their history/world intrigues me For lovers of the series, you'll be taken through emotional highs and lows, but Liz Long keeps you coming back for .The gang, the tension, and the stakes are higher than ever It's sure to keep readers guessing which is one of the things I like best about this series Can't wait for the next one. Having already read the first two books in the series, I was pretty familiar with the main characters of the book and was anxious to read this one It was such a great read The pace was steady Being a fan of the magical/paranormal mysteries I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and of courseof the character development It can be considered dark especially because of the evil they are fighting but it is balanced by some great moments of humor and comradeship of the circus crew As always, the book flew by and after many anxious moments came to a great conclusion which now leaves me wanting the next book out NOW! I would recommend this to anyone that loves the unusual! I really doubt this will disappoint anyone that reads it. At A Glance I am very frustrated with this book The Good I really liked this series when it first started The concept was different and the characters felt relatable And though Hunted didn't do it for me, there were some aspects I really enjoyed. The members that remain in the Donovan Circus have really banded together into one big family Sure, there is still some mistrust and fighting, but what family doesn't experience the same thing? I really loved the connection these people shared.Lucy is becoming an amazing leader I could see her running the show if she had to She knows who she is and always strives to make good decisions with her gift Her powers still grow, as does her loyal followers I am happy to see her finally belong The Bad Hunted was good to average for the most part, then at the 75% mark I was just done Sometimes characters make such bad decisions that I can't get over it. It ruins the whole book for me Lucy made such a decision(s) It was so stupid, so illogical, so deadly that I will never look at her the same A very important character dies because of this decision, and I honestly blame Lucy I know the person doing the killing is the bad one, but my feelings don't want to be logical There is no reason Lucy should have handled the situation the way she did, she knows better And if she doesn't by book 3, then I don't want to continue this series. Honestly, I didn't even want to finish this book.I also felt like this series is getting repetitive Each book is starting to feel the same with similar plots and results, I am kind of over it now The Snuggly The romance was very secondary, which made sense for the story Lucy and Keegan start out in a good place, then grow closer, but by the end their future is uncertain All sex is alluded to but we never see it happen so this is appropriate for a YA audience Final Thoughts I hate to say it but I think this is it for me with this series I just can't get over Lucy's bad decisions at the end The reason for not liking this book ispersonal, so others could easily love it But for me, I wouldn't recommend it. Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?Hunted is book three in the Donovan Circus series by Liz Long This is such a fantastic series The action is nonstop, and the characters are believable Lucy isconfident in her powers now, but she still has her insecurities, and that makes her believable She's a wonderful, strong female lead This is a circus setting, so there are multiple characters at any given moment, and they all have a presence and are easy to remember This is such a unique and addictive story I think there is something for everyone within its pages. The ARC of Wanted by Liz Long was kindly provided to me by the author for review The opinions are my own.
