This book was written with the intention of showing the author's grandchildren how blessed we are to live in America But it also celebrates the United States and the history of how we became a nation and what it took to have the rights we have today It is similar to Capital! Washington D.C A to Z but it showsof the importance of the great nation as a whole that we live in today and the blessings we should be proud of Reading it was a great reminder for me of what has happened in history that allowed us to be where we are today My favorite quote of the book was Y is for YOU and all you will be in this greatest of countries, the land of the free It is encouraging to children of how they will impact and change the world we live I would read this book before starting a unit on history.
